Through a special collaboration between Shapiro Library and the Wolak Learning Center, you can learn about research during Late Night Write Night! Workshops are open to all SNHU students both in person in Wolak Learning Commons Study room 2D (postponed until next Tuesday, December 10) and online.

  • 8:30-9:15 Search & Research: Mastering the Library Databases

Search results irrelevant or alarmingly small? Join SNHU librarians to choose the best Shapiro library resources for your project and learn search strategies to get the most out of them! In this workshop, you’ll learn about constructing effective searches and how to modify them when the results you want aren’t returned right away. Bring your research topic if you have one for real time feedback.

  • 9:30-10:15 Be a Research Skeptic: A Crash Course in Source Evaluation

Unsure if the resources you’ve found are high quality? Join SNHU librarians to discuss source evaluation, credibility and bias. Evaluating sources can be daunting, but Shapiro librarians can help! In this workshop, we’ll cover indicators of suitability for resources in Shapiro library databases and on the web.

Workshops offered during Late Night Write Night are slightly condensed and will vary slightly from other Virtual Research Workshops. Attendees are welcome to attend one or both workshops.

All times listed are in Eastern Standard Time. Registration is required for online attendance, and requested for all attendees. Registered participants will receive an email one hour before the workshop begins with information on how to join the online workshop room. Visit the Virtual Research Workshop guide to learn more about joining a Virtual Research Workshop online.
